From minor and major performance tweaks to a plethora of new apps iOS 8 it really going to be a big deal. Thus, the latest mobile operating system from Apple is poised to become the biggest thing since sliced bread. Kidding aside, the new software will enable iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users nutrition and fitness features never before seen on a mobile device.

Healthbook will be one of the main apps in iOS 8. And Apple hopes that it will get users to use it and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Pulse, blood sugar levels, miles logged, calories burned, and motivational tools will be built into Healthbook and other apps like it to get you moving. It will do so by tracking a ton of information about you and your body, thanks to the symbiosis between hardware and software (iOS 8).

That being said, iOS 8 wouldn't be so future-forward if not for the fact that the hardware isn't poised to be quite revolutionary as well. From a heavily rumored larger, sapphire glass-encased display, to faster motion processing and graphics throughput, and improvements to the already stellar iPhone 5s camera there's a lot of hardware upgrades coming.

All these improvements will aid iOS 8 in its quest to become the most widely admired, used and talked about version of iOS to date. Yet, even if iOS 8 includes some crazy fandangled new features, will that be enough to sway Android fans the world over? Charts and sales data shows that Android has an overwhelming lead over iOS in terms of usage. A lot of Android phones are derided as "junk" phones by analysts and Apple brass, but whether they like it or not these cheaper phones sell like hotcakes. Unless iOS 8 literally guarantees Android users the key to life's many secrets, it won't become as popular as Android.

What do you think of iOS 8? From everything you've read, do you believe it will be a marked improvement over the current iOS? Or are you worried about performance slowdown on older devices such as the iPhone 4s? And what about a potential negative impact on your iDevice's battery life?
