In the upcoming episode of “Elementary,” Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) figures out a way to get rid of his father Morland (John Noble).

As reported by Spoilers Guide, Episode 3 of Season 4 will have Holmes offering to help his father resolve an issue at work in exchange for his promise to go back home.

A teaser for the episode titled “Tag, You’re Me” shows Holmes excited enough about the deal to act out a John Cusack scene from the 1989 teen romantic comedy “Say Anything.”

Holmes stands at the bottom of set of stairs, holding a stereo over his head with the music of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" blaring out.

Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) walks down the stairs and informs him that she is pretty sure that the song he should be playing is by Peter Gabriel.

Holmes replies, “Never heard of it.”

In the course of the episode, Holmes and Watson will investigate a double murder involving the limits of facial recognition technology.

As fans of the show already know, Holmes is portrayed on “Elementary” as a brilliant detective with serious addiction issues. This season Holmes is newly sober, after a relapse that could have landed him in jail.

As reported by TV Line, executive producer Robert Doherty has warned his viewers that relapse is a reality for addicts, and it always lies around the corner for Holmes.

“It’s a sad truth about addiction -- relapses are far from extraordinary,” Doherty said.

The EP acknowledged that last season's relapse might have seemed extraordinary because Holmes seems to be better than the average person. Doherty added that at a basic level, Holmes is no different from any other addict.

The next episode of “Elementary” airs Nov. 19 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Watch the trailer below.
