A girl was found dead in Scottsville, Kentucky, just minutes after her mother reported her missing on Saturday.

According to WAVE 3 News, Kentucky State Police declared 7-year-old Gabriella Doolin's death a homicide. The girl was watching a youth football game with her mother at Allen County High School when she came up missing. The mother requested the stadium announcer call her name around 7:40 p.m.

"It came over the intercom the third time and they shut it down," said family friend Mike Willoughby, via WSMV. "We quit and the entire community started looking for her. We had a complete lockdown of the school. I mean it was super quick."

Kentucky State Police were alerted to the scene. After a short search, authorities found the girl's body in a creek behind the school.

The Medical's Examiner Office in Louisville performed the autopsy on Sunday. Authorities have not yet revealed the cause of death.

The news rocked the town of Scottsville, 50 miles northeast of Nashville. The small community houses a population of about 4,000 people.

"We, as a community Brian, stand with you. This whole town stands with you tonight," said pastor Keith Patrick to parents Brian and Amy Doolin at a candlelight vigil. "We are praying for you. We are crying with you. We are mourning with you."

Brian showed his appreciation for more than 500 people who came to mourn his daughter.

"I love you. I ain't no speaker, but I have love in my heart," he said. "Hold those babies tight. I'd love to hold Gabby just one more time, just hold her tight."

No arrests have yet been made in the incident. Kentucky State Police are currently narrowing down a possible list of suspects.
