Tech fans took notice last week when the mobile maker teased the upcoming launch of the Lenovo Vibe X3. Now, it looks like the wait is nearing an end as the smartphone has been officially announced, complete with high-quality audio capabilities and a fingerprint scanner.

According to Lenovo, as translated by PhoneArena, the 5.5-inch handset includes two front-facing stereo speakers, three noise-canceling mics and separate speaker amplifiers. It also features Hi-fi 3.0 with a dedicated ESS Sabre ES9018K2M or Wolfson8281 digital-to-analog converter.

Its fingerprint scanner is housed at the back, just below a 21-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX230 sensor and LED flash. Meanwhile, selfies and video chats are accommodated by an eight-megapixel front-facing unit, per Gadgets 360.

Under the hood, Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 is on board complete with 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB or 64GB of expandable native storage. Lenovo has a knack for outfitting its devices with long-lasting batteries, and the Vibe X3 is no exception. Its lights are kept on by a 3,600 mAh dry cell.

For those wondering if the device would fit in pockets or handbags, bear in mind that it measures 154 millimeters long, 76.5 millimeters wide and 9.3 millimeters thick.

The Vibe X3 will be released in China next Wednesday, Nov. 25. The 32GB version will retail for ¥2,499 or $390 while the 64GB premium version will cost ¥2,999 or $470. The rest of the world will have to be patient as the handset's global availability has yet to be reported.

GSM Arena noted that a lower-ended version of the Lenovo Vibe X3 was also announced. The aptly named Vibe X3 Youth comes with a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek processor plus 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable native storage and a 3,400 mAh dry cell. Downgrades are also present in the camera department. At the back, there's a 16-megapixel camera while the front shooter is a five-megapixel unit. The handset will sell in China for ¥1,899 or $300.

The Vibe X3 Youth looks like the same handset that TENAA certified last month. Back then, the Chinese telecommunication regulator called it the Vibe X3 Lite. It runs on Android 5.1 and features a fingerprint scanner, Mobile-dad reported.

The device measures 153 millimeters long, 76 millimeters wide and 8.7 millimeters thick. It has support for 4G connectivity and is available in four color options: gold, silver, white and black.
