Christian Bale will not be appearing in the upcoming ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

There was never really any indication that the actor would be making an appearance in the franchise but one fan had created a fan theory that caught tremendous steam on the internet.

The fan theory purported that Affleck’s character was not really Bruce Wayne but a character taking over the mantle of Batman after the hero’s disappearance from Gotham. Moreover, the theory claimed that the universe of the new movies was in fact the same one as Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies and that the Joker was the ultimate evolution of John Blake, aka Robin, from “The Dark Knight Rises.” The “thesis” claims that the main reason for the “v” in the title of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is that this film is the fifth entry in the universe following Nolan’s trilogy and “Man of Steel.”

Finally the theory stated that Bruce Wayne would make an appearance in the new film with Bale reprising the role.

But the actor is having none of that.

"I haven't heard that. This is the first I've heard of it. I think it's pretty clear that Ben [Affleck] is playing Batman now,” said Bale according to Entertainment Tonight. When pressed on whether he was simply avoiding spoilers, he added, "No, it’s not happening."

The new film hits theaters in early 2016 and has already created tremendous fan anticipation and the arrival of numerous fan theories. Another theory, based solely on the footage of the recent trailer, hypothesized that Superman might be under the control of Lex Luthor and that he is leading an army to attack Batman, thus adding more enemies to the Man of Steel’s slate.

Snyder directs the film which stars Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams and Jesse Eisenberg among others.
