Ever since he was thrust into power back in March 2014, Microsoft's head of Xbox division Phil Spencer has been determined to reduce the sales gap between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. A year and half into his tenure, the executive has steadily delivered on his promise by making sure the Xbox One has the better exclusives.

Just a week ago, marketing research firm The NPD Group outed its console sales report for October 2015 in the U.S. The report didn't show actual sales numbers for a specific hardware, but Microsoft said via GameSpot that it was the Xbox One who finished atop the revenue charts. The claim received little to no objection from Sony.

It can be recalled that in preparation for the holiday sale, Sony slashed the price of the PlayStation 4 from $400 down to $350 last month. The discount meant that the Xbox One did not have its usual price advantage heading into October, yet it still outpaced the PlayStation 4.

If you're still unsure about jumping into the Xbox One bandwagon, GameRant has listed five exclusive titles that could help you make up your mind. The games are as follows:

"Halo 5: Guardians"

"Halo 5: Guardians" is the biggest exclusive title from any gaming platform this holiday season. The NPD Group dubbed it as the top software content for October 2015. It can be said that the first-person action shooter was the main reason the Xbox One beat the PlayStation 4 last month. The game boasts of immersive worlds and delivers arguably the best multiplayer experience out of any AAA title out in the market today.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider"

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is a sequel to the 2013 reboot "Tomb Raider." It continues the adventures of a novice Lara Croft as she sets out on her first tomb raiding journey, as per GameSpot. While the game is only a timed-exclusive, fans who want to experience Lara Croft's latest adventure right now can only do so on last-gen and next-gen Xbox consoles.

"Forza Motorsport 6"

Car and racing fans will have no other game to turn to once they start playing "Forza 6." IGN calls the game "Hot Wheels brought to life." It satisfies hardcore automobile fans as well as entertains those who just want to drive a Ferrari.

"Rare Replay"

"Rare Replay" is a celebration of the history of Rare. It features Conker the Squirrel plus 29 other past titles from the British developer for only $30.

"Sunset Overdrive"

Insomniac's "Sunset Overdrive" has the perfect blend of comedy and exhilarating action. It has a unique traversal system and top-class combat mechanics. All this made the game arguably the best Xbox One exclusive of 2014. Not only that, a sequel is rumored to be in the works.
