Xbox One's background music remains to be a backlog on Microsoft's lists of new features for the famed console.

In a podcast on GameSpot, Mike Ybarra of Xbox confirms that the company has considered adding background music for the Xbox One console, but they want it to be at the perfect time. Ybarra said, "Background music is on that list. Windows 10 will help us as we think about what's the right way to deliver that, and we want to do it in a way that surprises fans."

But for now, Microsoft seems to be concentrating on making the recent integration of Windows 10 to the Xbox One console stable. Apparently, the company believes that they have done this in a way that players will be able to experience the most efficient console through the "New Xbox One Experience." Windows 10 has enabled the Xbox One gaming console to stretch out its efficiency as well as make room for future improvement.

Ybarra can't also help comparing the background music to that of screenshot features. He said that like the screenshot feature, they can't just go about launching the feature regardless of its outcome. It has to be in its best graphical form before they can launch it.

Currently, Xbox One users can use a third-party app in order to listen to music on the background, but this is only applicable on Snap. The feature, much as it serves the purpose of providing background music, actually takes up a portion of the player's screen. It can sometimes be annoying and avoidable if Xbox has provided its own.

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, it was more fun during the Xbox 360 time when background music was still enjoyed by fans and gamers, until they released the Xbox One console, scrapping the said feature. The Xbox One recently received major changes in the form of backwards compatibility feature and the Windows 10 update.

The backwards compatibility feature is seen to have been Microsoft's move to boost the console's sales after it trails behind the PlayStation 4. While the PlayStation 4 remains to be the top seller of consoles, Xbox One reigned the charts in October, outselling the PlayStation 4 for a time. The Windows 10, on the other hand, has been Microsoft's way to improve the performance of the Xbox One console as well as enhance its existing features.
