"Thinking Out Loud" singer Ed Sheeran may have one more thing to be thankful for this year as he announced that he is already an affianced man.

The 24-year-old singer took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce that he and "Goodbye My Lover" singer James Blunt are "engaged." While Thanksgiving is just around the corner, it seems that it's still April Fool's Day for Sheeran because he's obviously joking on his fans.

In his uploaded snap, he held hands with Blunt while he featured a seemingly taunting face as if he's plotting something devilishly fun. Meanwhile, the "Goodbye My Lover" singer looked as dapper as ever as he donned in a black suit while his other hand is kept on his side pocket. The photo was captured during the red carpet of Aria Awards in Australia last Nov. 25.

Alongside his photo, he included a caption which said: "We would like to announce our engagement."

According to Metro, Sheeran also joked during an interview that Blunt is his "male lover" and that they just "[came] out together, it's a recent thing."

Die-hard Sheeran fans will easily brush off this kind of joke since they probably knew that the Grammy Award-winning singer is in a relationship with someone else, and not Blunt. According to HollywoodLife, the "Photograph" hitmaker is dating his old school friend, Cherry Seaborn. The pair has been together for already six months after Sheeran called it quits with ex-girlfriend Athina Andrelos.

Blunt, on the other hand, is already a wedded ma which is the main reason why it's quite impossible that the duo are serious in their "engagement" stint. The 41-year-old actor has been married to socialite Sofia Wellesley since June 2014.

Even before joking everyone about their betrothal, it appeared that the pals just love to have lots of rounds for gags. As per Mirror, Blunt threw a joke on Sheeran when the red-headed singer was about to receive an award. He said that Sheeran contracted herpes as he shared a bottle of beer with him when he was 14.

"I went to one of James' gigs when I was 14 at the Cambridge Junction, and I stole his bottle of Corona - and there was 20 people in the crowd, and he went on to sell 20 million records, which is alright, isn't it?" Sheeran responded while he took his award. The "Lego House" singer was awarded with an inaugural diamond award for album sales.

"That's where you got the herpes from, mate," Blunt continued, to which Sheeran laughingly added, "It still itches."
