Denver Broncos superstar Peyton Manning is reportedly nearing his return from foot injury, while Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo will not play for the remainder of the 2015 NFL season.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed that Manning, who has not played for more than a month after hurting his left foot, will reportedly return in their Week 15 match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"He's going to be in a cast for up to 10 days, then he's got another week of rehab, and then he's got to try to get on the field. So the date to circle on your calendar is Dec. 20 against the Steelers," Rapoport said. "That's the most realistic date that Manning could be back, but no one has guaranteed to me that he'll definitely be back on the field."

However, Broncos vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth took to Twitter to deny reports about Manning's possible return against the Steelers.

Manning has played in nine games this season, where he completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 2,180 yards with nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions this season.

Tony Romo Done for Season

Meanwhile, multiple reports confirmed that quarterback Tony Romo will not return to action for the Cowboys this season. According to ESPN, the 35-year-old sustained a hairline fracture in his left collarbone after being hit by linebacker Thomas Davis during their 33-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Thursday.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said that the incident was not a product of poor judgment. He said that Romo was already 100 percent ready to return and that there is really a risk of re-hurting the broken collarbone, which he sustained during their Week 2 match against Philadelphia.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones echoed Garrett's statement, saying that they knew all along that Romo could sustain another injury related to the previous one.

"We felt that the risk was worth the potential of having him be the impact he can be and he is on our team," Jones said via ESPN. "And really having a fairy tale turnaround and doing something that was special, to me, that's what we're about. That's what sports is about. You shouldn't ever quit trying to do something that is extraordinary."

With Romo out for the remainder of the season, the Cowboys will start Matt Cassel and could also add Kellen Moore to their roster. The Cowboys will return to action against the Washington Redskins on Dec. 7.
