Thor or the Hulk?

The upcoming movie "Thor: Ragnarok," will put the two superheroes together in a solo movie for the very first time, but one question that has floated around is which hero would win a fight. After all, Thor is a god and the Hulk is the result of scientific development of the highest order.

Actor Chris Hemsworth recently chimed in on the question in a report by the New York Daily News and gave a rather biased and predictable answer.

"I'd like to think I let him win last time, but because this movie is called 'Thor,' I have to win this time," Hemsworth said in the report.

The "last time" that Hemsworth is referring to is the encounter between the two characters in the 2012 film "The Avengers" when Hulk managed to overcome his godly rival. However, it is doubtful that the two heroes face off in the upcoming film as they are likely to work together to defeat the new dark forces at work.

Hemsworth noted that he hopes the film will replicate the buddy film style of a great classic.

"I hope it's a Butch Cassidy (and the Sundance Kid") sort of story," he stated. "That would be fun. I love Mark. I think those two characters haven't spent a whole lot of time talking to each other on screen (so far in the Marvel movies), so it's something new, I think it would bring something different out of the characters."

The third film in the "Thor" franchise might also be the final one as Hemsworth's contract is up and many wonder whether he even makes it to the next "Avengers" film, which is also saturated with old and newer heroes joining the fray in the coming years. The Hulk has yet to get a standalone film with Mark Ruffalo at the helm, placing him and Thor as two characters that could be sacrificed in this installment to make room for other heroes to gain prominence.

The two "Thor" movies rank eighth and ninth in box office growth among the 12 Marvel movies. "Thor: The Dark World" is the higher ranking of the two with just a little over $200 million in domestic box office gross. The average Marvel movie has grossed close to $300 million domestically.
