Asus has been hitting it out of the park with their various electronics, but soon, another set of smartphones will take the spotlight as the Asus ZenFone 2 Laser and Asus ZenFone Selfie debut in a fun teaser video.

The short subtitled trailer had a head chef using the new ZenFone collection as a chopping board as he prepped vegetables in the kitchen. A fellow cook spotted him and attempted to do the same with his own smartphone, shattering it into pieces.

"You're mad," another cook chided. "This is NOT a ZenFone!"

Indeed, one of the primary strengths of the upcoming ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone Selfie is its ultra strong display equipped with the acclaimed Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The devices are reportedly twice as resistant to drop damage and 2.5 times as strong, with 85 percent less chance of breaking. Maybe it's not the smartest thing to use the premium handsets in a kitchen, but it's likely more equipped to survive the grind of everyday use than the average device.

While the tough skin of the two new Asus smartphones is definitely a big draw, other impressive features add to the ZenFones' appeal. Both the ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone Selfie are powered by octa-core Snapdragon 615 processors, according to a report from Phone Arena. Running on Android Lollipop, the handsets are also fitted with a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage and 3,000 mAh battery cells.

A previous report from PC Mag revealed more details on the ZenFone 2 Laser, saying the 5.5-inch display looked very similar to its predecessor, the ZenFone 2. It has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 401 ppi, and offers a dual SIM slot and micro-SD slot for up to 128GB. A five-megapixel front shooter is also featured.

Meanwhile, the Asus ZenFone Selfie will also come in a 5.5-inch display package with 1920 x 1080 resolution, according to a report from Android Headlines. The handset will reportedly place a big emphasis on its high-quality cameras, with a front snapper that's equally impressive as the "main" rear camera at 13 megapixels. Inspired by the selfie revolution, the ZenFone Selfie makes it easier for users to take images of themselves.

The Asus ZenFone 2 Laser is available in the U.S. for as low as $199.99. Stay tuned for news on the Asus ZenFone Selfie making the jump to the region. The report from Android Headlines said that the smartphone is already available for pre-order at the Gear Best website.
