The Fallout 4 community is currently abuzz with speculation of the game's underwater secrets and hidden treasures. At the same time, an upcoming DLC is said to delve more into seabed exploration.

Fallout 4 immerses gamers into a war-torn retro-future version of Boston. Vault dwellers are free to roam the city and its surrounding outskirts. However, it looks like there's more ground to cover beneath the waves.

Reddit user FiveStarFacial55, through sheer happenstance, dropped into the ocean and couldn't manage to resurface. So, he took the opportunity to test the waters with the help of his Power Armor's oxygen reserves. He then uploaded screenshots of the adventure on Imgur.

After the images went viral online, Fallout 4 aficionados began to follow suit. VG247 said, "Why are there so many different ways to survive underwater if there's nothing of note down there?"

As it turns out, there are actually underwater spots that contain several items, including sets of Power Armor and an abandoned submarine. The same report suggested that gamers could soon be treated to more seabed exploration with the game's upcoming DLC.

The theory might just be more than a pipe dream since there's already an in-game perk that allows gamers to breathe underwater. Not only that, a harpoon gun was also found lurking in its source code, as seen in this YouTube video.

Bethesda announced back in September that the content for the Fallout 4 season pass was still unknown at that time. However, preliminary ideas have already been in place, which includes raw portions of deep sea.

"We've always done a lot of DLC for our games. We love making them and you always ask us for more," read a statement from Bethesda. "To reward our most loyal fans, this time we'll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30. Since we're still hard at work on the game, we don't know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year."

The gaming studio has yet to add on its prior statements, making this underwater hullabaloo pure speculation as of the moment. At any rate, the ocean environment and associated items could simply be in place to add more open-world detail to the game.

Still, a lot of gamers hope that the underwater perks will eventually have more importance in the overall game.

Fallout 4 is an open-world action role-playing game that is now available on PS4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
