Amy Schumer and Serena Williams posed nude for the 43rd edition of Pirelli Calendar for 2016 with seasoned photographer Annie Leibovitz, who was also the genius behind the 2000 edition that drew attention because it featured naked ballet models.

For this year's calendar, instead of being bold and outrageous, it opted for something more demure. According to Variety, 34-year-old Schumer revealed her daring photoshoot on Twitter on Monday with the caption, "Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman."

The photo shows her in a lace panty and topless while sitting in a stool, wearing just heels and underwear, and holding a cup of coffee in the air.

"I'm a great admirer of comediennes. The Amy Schumer portrait added some fun. It's as if she didn't get the memo saying that she could keep her clothes on," Leibovitz told Variety.

Similarly, 34-year-old Williams posed semi-nude as she leaned on a wall with nothing but a pair of black underwear. Her legs were astride while her impressive back muscles are on full display, E! News reports.

Known for having high-fashion nude pictorial and sexy-sleek look, the 2016 Pirelli Calendar -- the 43rd edition since its debut in 1964 -- has taken a noticeable turn into something more demure with seasoned photographer Leibovitz.

"For 2016, we did something completely different, but it is still simple. It is a classic set of black-and-white portraits made in the studio," Leibovitz told E! News.

Further, it was reported that along with Schumer and Williams are 13 other models from different ages who have "outstanding professional, social, cultural, sporting and artistic accomplishment."

The older age bracket includes 82-year-old musician Yoko Ono, 68-year-old rock star Patti Smith and 65-year-old Fran Lebowitz. For the younger age bracket are models like 19-year-old blogger Tavi Gevinson and 33-year-old top model Natalia Vodianova.

But despite Schumer and Williams stripping down, the rest of the ladies are fully clothed, a clear indication of how Leibovitz opted to deviate from the usual sexy-sleek look of the Pirelli Calendar.

"When Pirelli approached me, they said they wanted to make a departure from the past. They suggested the idea of photographing distinguished women. After we agreed on that, the goal was to be very straightforward. I wanted the pictures to show the women exactly as they are, with no pretense," Leibovitz added.
