Pop singer Becky G revealed in a recent interview how being a Latina affects her love life and how it also helps her career.

The pop singer admitted during an exclusive interview with Vibe that being Latina has its downside because it makes it hard for her to relate to other people, which in turn gets in the way of her love life.

"It means a lot to me to be Latina. I think our culture is very beautiful. I think our language is very beautiful. I think we're very passionate people," the singer said. "We love to love and that's very beautiful. But it's also very sucky sometimes because when it comes to my love life, I'm always like ehh this sucks, because not a lot of people have the same in common."

The 18-year-old was previously in a relationship with fellow pop star Austin Mahone and has yet to reveal the reason behind their split.

Recently, the singer was linked to regional Mexican music star Luis Coronel. The rumors of a possible romance between the two began earlier this year, and they were later revived again after Becky G attended one of Coronel's concerts and was serenaded by the 19-year-old star.

The "Break A Sweat" singer also shared that being a Latina means having a large family, and her career can make that hard at times.

"[Being on the road] is definitely the hardest, because I'm Latina," she said. "I'm Mexican-American, so I got a big ol' family. And [because] we are so close, being without them is one of the hardest things, so the smell of home is one of my favorite scents ever."

However, the teen added that, because of her background, she was ready to take on the career she chose. The singer explained that being raised to be feisty and to be vocal helps her connect with her fans in different ways, other than just through her music.
