Mariah Carey was hospitalized in a New York hospital after falling ill on Wednesday morning.

The 45-year-old "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer came down with the flu after appearing at Pier 1's pop-up store in New York on Tuesday night. Still, she said she plans to perform this weekend, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Unfortunately, Mariah had been feeling under the weather with the flu over the past few days and was fighting it to the best of her abilities," her representative said in a statement. "She is doing well now and will be performing as scheduled this weekend. She thanks her lambs for the continued support and well wishes."

The doctors put the singer, who was dehydrated and ill, on a regimen of fluids and vitamins.

Carey will next appear at Hot 97's "Hot for the Holidays" concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday night. After this show, she will be performing in a five-night run for the second annual "All I Want For Christmas Is You" concert series, set to take place at New York's Beacon Theatre on Dec. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 17. The singer will be performing her extensive Christmas catalog, which includes 1994's "Merry Christmas" and 2010's "Merry Christmas II You."

Recently, Carey also released a children's picture book, with illustrations done by Colleen Madden, based on her hit Christmas song "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

"When I wrote 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' it was my dream for it to become a classic Christmas song," she said in a statement. "I am so proud of the song's impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year. I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book."

The book, which features all the lyrics from her 1994 song, follows a little girl who wants a new puppy for Christmas.

Carey also appears in the new Hallmark movie, "A Christmas Melody," which will debut on Saturday, Dec. 19.
