After a gruesome and suspenseful season 4 finale, The Walking Dead better have some amazing things planned for season 5.

According to Mirror, episode 1 of season 5 will probably be about the group reuniting as well as a deeper explanation of Terminus.

"We've got a reunion, and we know how brutal and extraordinarily tough this group are," Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) said.

The question of whether or not the people in Terminus are cannibals will also be answered. According to Scott M. Gimple, supervising producer, "one could suspect, but there are no eaten parts there." Robert Kirkman, comic book creator and AMC show executive producer and writer, the truth comes early in season 5.

"Assume nothing," Kirkman told TV Guide. "I will say for the record that we're not revealing that these are the cannibals or outright denying that. You should plan for a surprise when we come back for season 5."

Season 5 will also see more of the deep character development introduced in season 4.

"Some characters like Tyreese, despite all the things that are thrown at them, are able to remain humane," Kirkman said. "Other characters like Carol -- not so much. That's someone who has definitely gone down a dark path."

Rick Grimes will see one of the most dramatic changes, as all bets are off.

"I would pretty much guarantee that we're going to see a completely different Rick Grimes in season 5," Greg Nicotero, executive producer, said. "[He will be] willing to do anything and never question any motive, any decision. He just goes in it head first."

"You can never be the same person you once were," Lincoln added. "Rick can't, and I think that was the eternal struggle was that he was trying to repress -- a part of him that is in him."

New worlds will also appear next season.

"Season 5 will probably have more distinctive individual locations than we've had on the show thus far," Kirkman revealed.

Finally, get ready for more Rosita, Tara and Gareth, as Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos and Andrew J. West have signed as season 5 regulars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hershel Greene and the Governor, however, will not appear "in the immediate future," according to Gimple.

"I would say that these next eight episodes are going to be a little more action-heavy, with a lot of big twists," Gimple explained. "Really 85% of them are together again, so it's a pretty good guess that they're going to remain together, and that's going to give us a whole new emotional dynamic as well."

Season 5 premieres in October.
