Across Silicon Valley, diversity has been hailed as one of the tech industry's greatest problems. Facebook, for example, has publically acknowledged its struggles with gaining a diverse employee base. But diversity isn't quite the same challenge for one Bay Area-based tech company: Yelp.
Last year, Voto Latino launched its Innovators Challenge, a competition for savvy Latinos looking to make a difference in their community with a unique technology-based solution.
Based in Chicago, which has more than 1.9 million Hispanics, the "Think. Build. Pitch" boot camp is a four-week, intensive summer program that engages 13- to 18-year-olds, teaching them critical thinking, business planning and technological solutions.
