Louis Van Gaal's debut did not go the way he expected. The Dutch manager, straight off a terrific World Cup with the Netherlands, was expected to come into Manchester and deliver a championship caliber side. Van Gaal did previously state that his club was not complete and that it lacked some pieces, but many expected his new 3-5-2 to have tremendous impact immediately.
