Saturday’s chance to win big money playing Powerball is here.

The grand prize is currently at $127 million, with a cash value of $77.9 million.

Last Wednesday’s winning numbers were 14, 18, 19, 32, and 64, and the Powerball was 9. There were regular 587,377 winners, and $3,738,913 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are nine ways to play Powerball. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 293 million. The odds of simply doubling your money on a $2 ticket are 1 in 38.

A Powerball player in Tennessee has just come forward to claim the second largest prize in the state’s history. As a local NBC affiliate reports, last month an unidentified Powerball player picked up a ticket that was worth over $144 million at a beer store in the city of Antioch. The winner chose to receive a lump sum of nearly $90 million rather than take the money in payments.

All lottery winners are by definition lucky, but a lottery player in California has shown himself to be luckier than most.

Last week, Rodney Meadows of Modesto purchased $30 worth of tickets and discovered he'd won $1,000. Upon realizing he was a grand richer, Meadows bought three more lottery tickets and immediately discovered he was now a millionaire.

As ABC News reports, Meadows, who won $10 million, could not believe his luck. “First off, I could not believe it," he said, "I had to ask the clerk at the store and he said, ‘You better check it again on the machine.'" The machine said he was a winner.

Meadows said he does not know what he will spend his money on.

For California’s newest millionaire, buying lottery tickets is just a weekly routine. “I’ve been playing the California Lottery since day one,” he said.
