The Cleveland Browns hired Hue Jackson as their new coach. Multiple reports indicated that Jackson and the Browns will likely end Johnny Manziel's stint in Cleveland.

NFL insider Pat McManamon of ESPN revealed that the Browns' decision to name Jackson as their new coach also means that they are now ready to part ways with Manziel, who was involved in numerous controversies in his first two seasons in the league.

Manziel was viewed as the quarterback of the future in Cleveland, when they selected the former Texas A&M standout as the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. However, the 23-year-old disappointed team officials with his off-field antics, as he was seen partying numerous times even before scheduled games and team meetings.

Manziel was spotted in Las Vegas before the regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers while under concussion protocol. Browns officials reported gave him a cold treatment the day after their season finale.

According Dan Graziano of ESPN, Manziel's situation was brought up during meetings between Jackson and Browns officials. Jackson reportedly told the ownership group that he wants the team to ditch Manziel in the offseason, and team officials reportedly told their new coach that they are ready to move on from the young quarterback.

During his introductory press conference on Wednesday, Jackson declined to discuss Manziel's future in Cleveland but said that he will evaluate all their players in the coming weeks before making a decision.

"I don't know Johnny personally," Jackson told Cleveland.com. "I know who he is, but at the same time I think I have to give everybody on our football team a fair opportunity to see who they are, to truly learn who they are, and then make decisions from there."

Jackson, who was also in the running for the New York Giants coaching job, added that he will not comment on Manziel's behavior during his first two seasons, and reiterated that the former Heisman Trophy winner will be evaluated based on his performance as a football player.

"I need to evaluate him as a football player and I know whatever incidents he's been involved in I wasn't a part of here. So I can't comment on those because I don't know anything about those," Jackson said.

While Jackson was noncommittal on Manziel's future, Sacramento Bee reported that the new Browns coach will look the possibility of acquiring San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the offseason. Jackson has made it no secret that he considers Kaepernick as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
