Actor Rafael Amaya said he is supporting actress and fellow "La Reina del Sur" costar Kate del Castillo at a recent Telemundo event on Jan. 19.

On the Telemundo NATPE party red carpet, Amaya told TVyNovelas he supports del Castillo, who is under investigation for her involvement with Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.

"She knows I support her in everything she does," he said.

"Like they say, 'if you're not around for the good you're not wanted for the bad,' and I am going to be with her until the end."

Del Castillo has remained out of the spotlight since news broke that connected her and actor Sean Penn to the famous Mexican drug lord.

Aside from a tweet promising to tell her side of the story, the 43-year-old actress has remained quiet about the whole ordeal, but has garnered support from fans and other stars.

"I love her very much and I send her a kiss and a hug," Amaya said.

Amaya dealt with his own controversy late last year when he reportedly spent time in a hospital for possible drug overdose.

According to TVNotas, the "El Señor de los Cielos" star was rushed to the hospital and had a near death experience after weeks of nonstop spending and indulging in drugs and prostitutes.

However, the actor eventually spoke out in an interview with María Celeste Arrarás for "Al Rojo Vivo."

"I had a lot of personal problems in my life. It was like a chain reaction, and my body couldn't take it anymore, and I had to go to the hospital," he said.

"I don't drink, I don't take any type of drug, nor anything. I am very happy with what is happening in my life, with 'El Señor de los Cielos,' with my life, with my family, with my friends and I simply took some time to find myself, to return to my origins."
