Gina Rodriguez may be known for her television role of Jane Villanueva on "Jane The Virgin," but some of her fans think that the actress is well suited to play the role of a Marvel superhero in a blockbuster film.

On May 30, Twitter user @Winterchildrens shared a collage of pictures featuring Marvel's America Chavez, a.k.a Miss America, and Rodriguez. and

The social media account explained that the Puerto Rican-American actress would be a great fit to play the Latina-American superhero.

Apparently, other fans of the star seemed to agree with the concept and shared their thoughts on the idea as well.

Rodriguez is credited with helping to bring diversity to television with her Golden Globe-winning role on "Jane The Virgin" and already has proven she is physically capable of fighting her own battles with her boxing skills. Playing Miss America may just be a great fit for her.

America Chavez is the second Miss America in the Marvel comics universe and made her debut in 2011. She is a teenager raised by two mothers and has the power of super strength, super speed, durability, able to fly and can travel through dimensions and universes.

Rodriguez herself seemed to like the idea and retweeted the collage. The actress also shared some support for another super hero.

The actress retweeted a photo of the cover of Viva, which features the new hero, La Borinqueña, created by comic book author Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, in honor of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade.

While Marvel has several Latino superheroes none have yet to be put onscreen.

The only heroes of color to make it on the big screen have been men of color, including Sam Wilson's Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, and The Black Panther, portrayed by Chadwick Boseman.
