Mexico and Chile face off in the quarterfinals of the Copa America 2016 on Saturday.

This game promises to be an exciting attacking affair as has been on display between these sides. Last year Chile and Mexico battled to a fascinating 3-3 draw in this tournament, one of the best matches of the entire Copa America 2015.

This time around Mexico is fully powered and has been off to a sparkling start in the tournament. Mexico dominated its group, defeating Uruguay 3-1, Jamaica 1-0 and then drawing with Venezuela 1-1. The team has gotten scoring throughout the lineup and has played with a solid flowing offense.

Chile has also been offensively powered, going toe to toe with Argentina in its opener but ultimately losing 2-1. Despite that, Chile managed a clutch 2-1 win over Bolivia before powering through Panama 4-2 in the final group game. Alexis Sanchez was a dynamic in that final game, creating one goal and scoring two others. Arturo Vidal took the leadership position in the 2-1 win over Bolivia, scoring both goals in that encounter.

Player to Watch

The netminders are surely the players to watch in this one, for differing reasons.

Chile's Claudio Bravo had a horrific game against Panama conceding two goals that most elite keepers make. He was just as bad against Argentina, conceding some bad goals near post. His confidence might be in the dumps and could potentially cost his nation if he is not at his best.

Mexico's situation is rather interesting because the reality is that no one knows who will be in the nets in the next game. Coach Juan Osorio has used each of his goalies in the group stage and has yet to declare his starter for the big game. All three have been solid though the lack of reps could hinder the team as a whole.

History says...

Mexico has taken 17 victories from Chile, five draws and nine defeats. That said, these teams have been pretty even since 2004 as Mexico has won three games, lost two and drawn four with Chile in that span.

Chile will win if...

It can play with the offensive intensity it has seemingly managed to this point. This will be a highly offensive game and Chile's ability to control the ball and keep it away from its questionable defensive will be the difference. Claudio Bravo also need a big bounceback game after what has been a bad run.

Mexico will win if...

It can exploit Chile in the air and take control of the ball. Chile's defense is weaker than Mexico's and their goalie seems to have some confidence issues at the moment. Mexico needs to pressure and pressure fast and high. Shooting near post seems to be working against Bravo these days, so it might also be a good tactic for Mexico.

Prediction

The defending champs and Mexicans go to the wire, possibly penalties but Chile winds up pulling it out late.
