Supernatural Season 12 revealed that the 80's rockstar, Rick Springfield is the new Lucifer. During the Comic-Con panel, last July 24th, the executive producers of the show confirmed that Springfield will be playing the role of a rockstar who's a little bit downside in his career and is trying to make a comeback. Lucifer is going to try out some different vessels and he feels comfortable in a rock star named Vince Vicente, according to an executive producer of the Supernatural, Bob Singer.

Supernatural Season 12 premiered their first episode 'Keep Calm and Carry On' last October 13, where Dean gets overwhelmed as he came face-to-face with his mom Mary Winchester who is a skilled supernatural hunter as well and it had been 30 years since they've seen each other, Den of Geek reports.

The episode 2 'Mamma Mia' aired last October 20, where Castiel, Dean, and Mary set out a rescue to Sam. Crowly joined the forces to get rid of Lucifer and Crowly has been tipped off that the new Lucifer took over the body of a rock star Vince Vicente. According to Andrew Dabb an executive producer of the show, for Lucifer popping out in a new body that  happens to be a rock star allows him to feel and experience the almost God-like worship, via Heavy.  

Meanwhile, Sam has been shot but not dead, he was kidnapped by the Lady Toni of British Men of Letters. When Dean realizes himself, Castiel and his mother venture off to find Sam, the actor Misha Collins played the character of Castiel previously said in an interview that; his character, Castiel will definitely come back into Season 12 with a fighting spirit because he is angry that he dropped the ball with Lucifer and that he is going after Lucifer getting and hunting him down,
