"Godzilla" is poised to win the box office defeating last week's champion "Neighbors" while "Million Dollar Arm" is expected to open modestly.

The Gareth Edwards film is opening 3,962 theaters in both 3D and IMAX and is looking to debut with $65-70 million. "Godzilla," which reported cost $160 million, is heading in with good reviews as it currently has a 78 percent aggregate score Rotten Tomatoes and critics are raving about the special effects and the human drama. Warner Bros built the hype on the film in a very unique way as it kept the monster hidden throughout most of the trailers and made it a mystery for audiences. Additionally, over the past year, the studio has been releasing viral videos and behind the scenes footage in anticipation of the release. The film also benefits from a solid cast that includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe and David Strathairn.

"Neighbors" looks to be heading towards another solid weekend. The movie has already made $61 million in six days and is likely to bring in another $30 million over the weekend. The movie has done well over the week and is benefiting from strong word of mouth. If the gross falls 40 percent from its opening weekend, "Neighbors" could be looking a total of $90 million by the end of the weekend.

Meanwhile, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is likely to dip another 61 percent. The film has already made $153 million and is likely to bring in another $16 million over the weekend. The comic book flick is still doing well overseas as it has made $404 million. However, domestically, it is still on track to become the lowest Spider-man flick in North America.

Disney's new release "Million Dollar Arm" is expected to open in the mid teens. The movie, starring Jon Ham, has garnered mixed reviews with critics complaining about the unoriginal story line. The company is releasing the movie in 3,019 theaters and hopes to get the audience from "Miracle," "Invincible," "Remember the Titans" and "The Rookie." Disney also hopes that it can build strong word of mouth to be able to succeed over time. However, baseball has never been a big seller at the box office. Last year's "42" was the biggest seller with $95 million but the Oscar nominee "Moneyball" only made 75 million. Both of those film had great reviews, which "Million Dollar Arm" does not.

"The Other Woman" is likely to add another $6 million to its $64 million domestic total. That should bring the film to $70 million. With no other woman-dominated film on the market, "The Other Woman" is likely to continue its strong run.

In art house cinemas the Weinstein Company will release the highly acclaimed film "The Immigrant." The movie stars Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jeremy Renner and tells the story of Polish immigrant who is forced to become a prostitute to rescue her sister. The movie is opening a year after its controversial Cannes premiere where the film scored mixed reviews. The movie was originally planned for a fall release in time for the Academy but was quickly dumped by the Weinstein Company. However, after a number of delays, "The Immigrant" was given a release date with very little marketing. Interestingly the North American critics have responded well as it has an 83 percent aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes and the Weinstein Company is planning on expanding the movie in the coming weeks. The film will open in three theaters in New York and Los Angeles.

The Weinstein Company will also add another two theaters to "The Railway Man" after its solid hold. The film has made a disappointing $2.3 million and, with "The Immigrant" being released this week, it is likely the company will shift its efforts to the new release.

Meanwhile, Fox Searchlight will continue expanding "Belle." The studio will add the film to another 128 theaters. "Belle" has already made $775,263 domestically but this weekend will be the big test to see if the movie has legs and can reach mainstream audiences.

Open Road will also expand "Chef" into 66 theaters. After its strong opening last weekend, the company hopes for another successful weekend. Open Road is planning on expanding the film into wide release next weekend but it will all depend on how well the film performs this weekend.

IFC Films is also expanding "God's Pocket" into 75 more theaters. The movie had a fair opening and has only made $21,482 in its first week. IFC hopes to attract Philip Seymour Hoffman fans especially since it is his second-to-last film.
