Jake Conrad couldn't think of a more romantic way to pop the question to boyfriend Michael Holtzman than during a Chicago Bulls game. In a game between the Chicago Bulls and the San Antonio Spurs, Thursday night, the crowd went wild when Jake proposed to Michael during half time. Minutes after this proposal, the web went ablaze with the news; a sportswriter even described this unusual event as a "groundbreaking moment in sports" history.

People reported that Jake and Michael's engagement on live sports TV gathered nearly 800,000 views. A video of the proposal was captured and posted on the Bull's Facebook page featuring all the romantic details. At present, the video has more than 810K views and more than 20K comments which were mostly positive and expressed their congratulations to the newly engaged couple.

The proposal started with Jake Conrad waiting at the Bulls court for his boyfriend to come out. Bennie the Bull led Michael out as the Luvabulls danced. As "Do You Love Me" by The Contours played, Jake got on one knee and proposed to Michael. He took a yellow Ring Pop candy and placed it on his finger.

Jake did not wait for a positive response; Michael's smile was enough to tell him that they were engaged. The two smiled for pictures while the song "Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Trainor played.

Meanwhile, Breitbart also reported the halftime proposal and took note the reactions of sports fans in social media. Tom Gatto from Sporting News said that this proposal was not an average arena proposal that he has seen before. He said that basically Jake and Michael created a "groundbreaking moment in sports." The sports writer also enthusiastically said that there could be more LGBT marriage proposals in sports to come out really soon. It could be a matter of time that another one could happen across the US.

Apparently, Jake and Michael were not the first ones to propose in sports. During an Atlanta Hawks game in December 2015, a lesbian couple had their wedding proposal in front of hundreds of fans and millions on TV. Jake and Michael could be the first in NBA history.
