Emma Watson slammed her haters who are criticizing the actress' controversial topless Vanity Fair shoot. Many claimed that posing braless for the cover shoot is an insult to her feminist views.

According to Mail Online, Emma Watson recently posed for a photo shoot in the magazine by fashion photographer Tim Walker. In one of the photos, she posed in a white crocheted jacket with no top or bra underneath.

 When the picture made it to online, hate comments started flooding. Critics said the shoot showed she was hypocritical for claiming to be a feminist.

One of the hate tweets was from broadcaster Julia Hartley-Brewer. Her tweet reads, "Emma Watson: Feminism, feminism... gender wage gap... why oh why am I not taken seriously... feminism... oh, and here are my t--s!"

Other stated that the photo shoot is objectifying women and Emma Watson, being a feminist, shouldn't be a part of it. During an interview with BBC, Emma Watson slammed her haters for completely mission the point of feminism.

The 26-year-old actress stated that it was her choice to do go ahead with the photoshoot in no way undermined her feminist principles.

"Feminism is about giving women choice. It is not a stick with which to beat other women. It's about freedom, it's about liberation, and it's about equality," BBC quoted Watson. The actress added that she is confused as what her boobs have to do with feminism.

On the other hand, many defended her, arguing that clothing has nothing to do with Watson's thoughts about feminism. Feminism is the freedom every woman should have when deciding what clothes to wear.

Emma Watson is currently promoting her romantic fantasy musical film "Beauty and the Beast". She is playing the role of Belle in the flick. The movie is recently revealed to be the first Disney film to feature an openly gay character.
