On the occasion of upcoming father's day, "God of War 4" marketing team has revealed a game poster in Madrid, becoming the first official promotional move by Sony so far. The fact that Sony is already pushing the title indicates that "God of War 4" release date may be near.

The game poster shows an image of Kratos with his son Atreus following a tagline that loosely translates as "My Dad is Stronger Than Yours." The campaign is timed perfectly with Father's Day which will be celebrated on Mar. 19 in Spain. The fans instantly recognized the poster and started sharing on their respective social media accounts.

According to Segment Next, Sony Santa Monica is reportedly prepping up for "God of War 4" release date with Father's Day undertone which is set for Jun. 18 in the United States. Looking at the chain of events, it is safe to suggest that more of it will be shown at 2017 E3, also scheduled around the same dates from Jun. 13 to Jun. 15.

Meanwhile, Cory Barlog, creative director at Sony Interactive Entertainment, updated on his Twitter account last year that the game has finally reached a stage where it can be played from start to finish. However, he did not reveal any "God of War 4" release date update, Express reported.

The upcoming "God of War 4" is a reboot and a sequel of the original series. Kratos, the game protagonist, will be seen living in North Europe with his son Atreus. The first teaser released at E3 last year showed Kratos teaching his son how to hunt. The game will be based on Norse mythology. The last installment in the franchise was released in 2013, titled "God of War Ascension." Since then, "God of War 4" release date has been speculated but has not been officially announced.
