Hollywood power couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have carried on with their plans of buying a new home on the West Coast. The glamorous pair recently purchased a new house in Encino, California, costing them a staggering $1.4 million.

According to Variety, Lopez and Rodriguez purchased the San Fernando Valley property measuring 2,200-square-feet. The house has three bedrooms and two and a half baths.

The property sits in a once-overlooked neighborhood that has recently seen a surge in popularity among celebrities who enjoy the suburban environment.

The real estate will serve as a family home to the couple, as well as their four children - Lopez's twins, 12-year-old Emme and Max; and Rodriguez's children, 15-year-old Natasha and 12-year-old Ella.

While the couple has different design aesthetics, the newly-purchased property blends both contemporary and retro furnishings in a ranch-style layout.

San Fernando Valley Property and History

Situated on .1 acres, the home includes an open-plan living room. Its dining room has vaulted wood ceilings and an updated kitchen.

There is also space outside where the couple could entertain guests at the covered seating area. A separate outbuilding can be used as an office or a studio, the People reported.

The modest home takes on a humbler tone than the other properties the couple owns. Built in 1948, the red tile-roofed structure carries an architectural heritage. Extensive renovations allowed it to include plenty of modern amenities.

The open kitchen was installed this year. It features ash grey cabinets, a center island, and stainless appliances. French doors connect the cooking area to a covered patio where the Lopez, Rodriguez, and their children could enjoy an alfresco living or dining room.

Outdoors, the corner lot property has drought-tolerant plantings and faux grass that gives the property its simplistic beauty without much need for maintenance.

Other Real Estate Properties

The couple recently purchased Jeremy Piven's oceanfront house in Malibu for $6.6 million. The tri-level house, which was built back in 11949, is considered one of the city's finest properties.

Its proximity to central Malibu's shopping and dining district also adds to its value, the Dirt.com reported.

JLo allegedly called in former Fixer Upper star, Joanna Gaines to tour the beach house. While no details have been released, sources for People say the couple was considering rehauling the oceanfront property.

In 2017, the Hustlers star listed her New York City penthouse for nearly $27 million. Lopez purchased the 6,500 square-foot Flatiron property in 2014.

The singer's city pad could only be accessed by a private elevator that opens to an entry foyer. The penthouse is bathed in natural light as it overlooks Madison Square Park.

Its top-of-the-line kitchen features a large island and open shelving. It also came with a stainless-steel wine fridge and a breakfast bar.

The property is equipped with four bedrooms, with the master suite sitting on its own floor. The top floor includes a media room and an additional terrace overlooking the park.
