Jennifer Lopez has dropped some exciting news for her beauty lover fans: her very own cosmetics brand, JLo Beauty, is coming soon.

Lopez dropped the news on Sunday through a series of Instagram selfies. "Sunset glow... #JLoBeauty coming soon," the 51-year-old pop icon wrote in her caption.

Last December, a trademark filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office showed that JLo Beauty would be featuring cosmetics. Many believe this will include eyeshadows, bronzers, highlighters, and lip colors that Lopez was wearing in her selfies.

While it has cosmetics, JLo Beauty also seems to focus on skincare with moisturizers, cleansers, soaps, gels, and others. These were all listed in the trademark filing, said a Page Six report.

Lopez's beauty brand comes two years after she collaborated with Inglot Cosmetics on a makeup collection, noted People. She said she's been working hard on the beauty brand for a while.

The news also follows Kohl's announcement that it will be cutting ties with the singer and actress as they were affected financially by the coronavirus, reported the Fox Business.

With the new beauty brand, Lopez is joining A-list musicians such as Rihanna with Fenty Beauty and Lady Gaga with Haus Labs.

Other stars who are also part of the beauty business are Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, Jessica Alba, and Millie Bobby Brown.

Joining the Multi-Billion Dollar Industry

Lopez isn't new to the beauty market. As she is expanding her business portfolio, she is not just joining popular musicians and artists. She's also taking a piece from an industry that gains billions of dollars.

In fact, the cosmetics market is seeing growth for up to $429.8 billion by 2022. That is on top of its annual growth rate of 4.3 percent, as per forecast from Allied Market Research-a global market research firm.

Other than her beauty venture, Lopez has also earned a fortune in the fragrance business. In September last year, she launched her 25th perfume, "Promise," reported the Los Angeles Times.

She has reportedly earned herself a $2 billion empire from that business alone, the WWD said.

Lopez told Refinery 29 that she has been working on the skincare line for a long time. She said she didn't want to just put anything out with her name on it.

Putting in A Lot of Effort

With the coming beauty brand, fans are just going to be excited to learn more about JLo's ageless beauty. It was also something that Lopez wanted: to share her secrets and the things she's learned about beauty.

She wanted the JLo Beauty brand to be something she would be proud to have her name on. She also assured fans there her brand "doesn't have anything to do with needles."

The singer appeared to have also teased her beauty brand announcement earlier this month. In an earlier post, she shared a makeup-free video where she explained how "grateful" she is for things that are coming.

"Woke up this morning feeling extra grateful and excited! Want to know why? Comment below if you wanna know what I'm working on!" Lopez said.
