Summer is not usually the most exciting period for gamers, except for the hype that the annual E3 gaming conference provides. Nonetheless, both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are hitting the summer drought and not expecting to see a lot of games to be released through the month of July. In fact, relatively few titles are expected by both platforms for this month. While fall looks more promising in terms of game releases, some decent titles that will soon be available are worth mentioning.

For Xbox One, games that will be out in July include Sniper Elite 3, which is expected to release on July 1, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition on July 2, and Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year Edition, which will be available on July 22.

Sniper Elite 3 is a game based on the sharpshooting skills of American OSS agent Karl Fairburne, who is deep inside the Nazi lines. Guacamelee is a brawler game that is available for free for Xbox LIVE Gold members, while Forza Motorsport 5 was among the best games available when the Xbox One was originally launched.

On the other hand, PlayStation 4 will also be receiving both Guacamelee and Sniper Elite 3 on the first day of July. However, PS4 gamers will also have two other titles to look forward to.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, a remake of the PlayStation 1 game, will be enjoyed by gamers who have been playing it on the PlayStation since its first version.

Finally, and even more exciting, especially for those new to the game, there will be a release of The Last of Us: Remastered on July 29. The game was very popular for PlayStation 3 players and it will be returning to the next-gen console of Sony with a full 1080p resolution and 60fps. The game will also feature upgrades to visuals and the overall playing experience.
