Juan Gabriel may have been forced to take a break from performing, but the singer is back and better than ever.

Over the weekend, Juan Gabriel performed in Miami at the American Airlines Arena, and the singer looked noticeably thinner. He wore a blue suit with a light purple tie, and he gave a high-energy performance.

Users took to social media to share videos and images of El Divo de Juarez in concert.

He took the time to thank the audience for supporting him during his health scare.

"I know you were thinking of me," he said. "Many thanks. I am here to sing to you, but also I've come to tell you how much I appreciate your kindness, love, respect and applause."

He was accompanied by 40 artists, which included mariachi, the orchestra and a choir.

The show was 180 minutes long.

There were also very personal touches throughout the show, notes the Miami New Times.

During "Amor Eterno" and "Abrazame Muy Fuerte," there were images of families and couples hugging one another. And when he performed "Yo No Nací Para Amar," there were pictures of the singer throughout his life.

Mariana Seoane spoke about her friend in late June.

"I have been keeping up with his health, and I know that he is in Cancun recovering well, which makes me very happy," she said.

The singer did not want to take a break from the tour, but he did because he knew he had to.

In May, a press release on Gabriel's website explained that he was taking his doctor's medical advice very seriously. The release described him as "in good spirits and optimistic." It also explained that he kept up with his fans on social media, as he read all the messages that they wrote him.

And for comparison, here is a video of Juan Gabriel posted 21 weeks ago.
