Alex Rodriguez's legal team has come forward, admitting that the athlete paid $305,000 for evidence after denying that he had. However, spokesmen for Rodriguez maintain that the purchase was made three weeks ago, and didn't interfere with the Major League Baseball's Biogenesis investigations.

That evidence shows MLB investigators participating unethical behavior, according to Rodriguez's team. Rodriguez's spokesman Ron Berkowitz stated that Rodriguez's purchase had nothing to do with "arbitration process and obstruction," though there was no declarative statement as to why he purchased it, and lied.

Rodriguez, who earned an unprecedented 211-game suspension, for violation and obstruction, is appealing the suspension, and continues to play. MLB paid $125,000 for documents regarding Anthony Bosch's Biogenesis anti-aging clinic, which led to Rodriguez and others being linked with performance enhancing drugs.

$200,000 of Rodriguez's payout was spent on the purchase of a video which features MLB officials and Biogenesis whistleblower transacting business. $105,000 was spent on allegedly inappropriate text messages between an MLB investigator and a potential witness. And, though Rodriguez has admitted to purchasing the video and the texts, his reps repeatedly deny that he purchased Bosch's notebooks.

Lanny Davis, the former Clinton White House adviser, who has joined Rodriguez's legal team as an adviser, said "in general, it is absolutely legal to buy a document."

Rodriguez's lawyers are accusing MLB of bullying witnesses and engaging in a "witch hunt." Also, they have insisted that Rodriguez has not taken banned drugs "recently," and MLB has proof that he has.

MLB officials deny inappropriate behavior. They also countered Rodriguez's claim, stating that they are "solid on the drug stuff" and that Rodriguez often spoke in code, using words such as "food" or "meds" instead of blatantly stating his desire to acquire illegal substances.

"They have really good Bosch testimony," one source said, "backed up by documents."
