The "Batman V. Superman: Dawn on Justice" trailer will feature the music of composers Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL.

The news was reported on Twitter when Tom Holkenborg also known as Junkie XL wrote: "We mixed the trailer today." He added, "I wrote the original music for this with @RealHansZimmer."

The news is a bit of a surprise because most of the time trailers do not feature original music from films because the score is composed after the picture cut. However, Zimmer and Junkie XL worked on the score as the film was being edited.

Zimmer, who composed the score for "Man of Steel" and "The Dark Knight " trilogy wrote the theme for Superman but did not work on the theme for Batman. The reasoning behind his decision was that he had worked on Christopher Nolan's "Batman" series and it was too soon to create another theme. As a result, he asked his friend Holkenborg to handle the Batman theme.

It is not the first time Zimmer collaborates with another composer, but it is the first time he will have worked with Holkenborg. Zimmer previously collaborated with James Newton Howard on the score of "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight."

Zimmer is also known for his work on "Interstellar," "Inception," "Rush," "12 Years a Slave" and "Gladiator."

Meanwhile, Holkenborg scored "Mad Max Fury Road" as well as "Divergent" and "Run All Night."

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Jena Malone, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons. It was directed by Zack Snyder from a script by David Goyer. Warner Bros. has not released plot details, but it is confirmed that the first trailer will premiere in front of "Mad Max."

The movie is slated for March 25, 2016 and it will be the first Batman movie to be released during the winter season.
