It wasn't exactly a case of love at first sight for Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea and NBA fiancé Nick Young.

In fact, Azalea tells the Daily Telegraph her first impression of the Los Angeles Lakers veteran swingman was that she couldn't stand him, and thought he and his entire crew were just "*rs*hole" basketball players.

"I hated all of them," Azalea added of her first and all but forgotten first encounter with Young. "And now I love all of them. When I figured it out, I think I was already in love with him."

The 30-year-old Young got the ball rolling on a second chance, which led to the two becoming engaged earlier this summer, by tweeting out that he had a crush on the "Ignorant Art" rapper.

"One of my guy friends actually brought it to my attention," Azalea recalls. "He's friends with Nick also, and he was like, 'Oh, did you see my boy Nick has a crush on you?' I was like: 'Oh, OK, he's kind of cute.' And he was really pushing the issue."

It all culminated in Kobe Bryant's running mate dropping to one knee last June and offering the 26-year-old Azalea a $684,000 yellow diamond ring as a testament of his affections. The two are now planning to wed next year during the NBA off-season.

As for her slightly stalled rap career, Azalea is still planning a big tour to replace the postponed one. She was officially forced to cancel the first tour earlier this year, somewhat due to her coming under heavy fire over her level of authenticity and sometimes insensitive lyrics.

Harlem rapper Azealia Banks particularly took her to task over Azalea's silence on the issue of African-American deaths at the hands of police.

"Black culture is cool, but black issues sure aren't, huh?" Banks tweeted at the time.

As for her new and upcoming music, Azalea reflects, "People will be very surprised. There's no way they won't be, because it's very... interesting."
