Racing enthusiasts and gamers alike will have much to look forward to in the upcoming "Need for Speed 2015" DLC.

Fans of "Need for Speed" can attest to its addictive quality, and EA is looking to add features to make it even more exciting than previous versions of the best-selling game. According to executive producer Marcus Nilsson, there's so much more to look forward to than just awesome car packs.

During Gamescom last week, Nilsson talked to VideoGamer.com about expansion plans for the new pack. "I want Need for Speed to modernise," he said. "I want Need for Speed to not feel like a November 3 title every year. I want it to be a game that people embrace, they keep it for longer and play it for longer, and that's something that Need for Speed needs to achieve because it's not happening right now."

He declined to reveal specific details, but he did confirm that the developer, Ghost Games, is considering expanding the game beyond car packs.

The producer added: "Obviously we don't go into [how we do that] today but we have pretty significant plans of what we think will work and I think the story that you see in this game can effectively help to keep you in there, as well as many other ways that we can refresh and renew content for you throughout."

A report from Games Radar expounded on the "Need for Speed" reboot while citing Nilsson's interview in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. The executive producer explained the decision to require an internet connection to play the game, pointing specifically to the Autolog feature.

"It's a really powerful feature," Nilsson said. "This time around we're going to give it more of a human voice. It will treat your friend's play as if it is part of the narrative experience."

He also talked about the game's new image sharing system, which can help a player's progression by converting likes into currency. The additional features are designed to make the game more interactive than ever for long-time fans of the EA favorite.

Since its original release in 1994, the "Need for Speed" franchise has evolved into one of the most recognizable and successful video games in the market, with a film included in its roster. According to Hollywood Reporter in its report last April, a sequel to the 2014 film is also in the works.

"Need for Speed" DLC will be out on November 3, 2015.
