Next week's big Apple event is mostly focused on the introduction of the newest iPhone, but an extra large iPad might excite tablet fans, CNET reports.

Apple plans to introduce two new iPads along with the update iPhone, which will likely be called the iPhone 6s. An updated iPad Mini is expected, called the iPad Mini 4, but the most surprising introduction will be the iPad Pro.

The iPad Pro will be the largest tablet from Apple yet with an ultra-large 12.9-inch screen. 9to5 Mac reports that both tablets will be launched at the Sept. 9 event, citing trusted sources. It was thought that Apple might wait until later in the year to launch these two tablets.

Apple receives more than two-thirds of its revenue from the iPhone, but is not ready to give up on the iPad even though its sales have been declining. Apple likely thinks that a large-screened iPad would attract business users and get people excited about tablets again.

Apple's Sept. 9 event will be held in San Francisco at the 7,000 seat Bill Graham auditorium. The presentation could be one of the company's biggest in history. With a big audience, the auditorium is a great place for Apple to introduce new iPads.

Normally, Apple has been introducing new iPhone in September and then new iPads in October. This might mean that little has changed for the new devices.

The new iPad Pro is expected to have a high-resolution display and speakers on both sides of the tablet. The iPad Mini 4 will get a speed boost and will be thinner than the previous version.

The iPad Pro is different though, since it is not an update to a previous product. The iPad Pro will be the first of its kind, so it will not be compared to a previous iPad.

Last month, Buzzfeed correctly predicted that a new iPad would be introduced during the week of Sept. 7 and said Sept. 9 would be the most likely date. The iPad announcements have not been confirmed, but the date of the event was correct.

Apple Insider reported that a JP Morgan analyst told clients that Foxconn, a manufacturing partner of Apple, would start receiving the components for the new iPads in September, which would likely mean the iPad Pro would launch in October.
