An ABC promo for a “Nightline” interview with “Quantico” actress Priyanka Chopra mistakenly used a photo of fellow Indian actress Yukta Mookhey.

As the lead star in ABC’s heavily hyped new series, Chopra is poised to become a household name. That is, if the network that is trying to promote the 33-year-old former Miss World doesn’t make things too confusing for her potential fans.

As it turns out, Mookhey, who was Miss World 2009, actually handed the crown over to Chopra in 2010.

After realizing their mistake amid a storm of Twitter criticism, “Nightline” took to Twitter to offer their most sincere apologies.

Chopra seemed to take the whole gaffe with a light heart, simply thanking “Nightline” for the correction.

In truth, the actress has suffered much worse in her life than a comparison to a fellow beauty contest winner.

In an interview in Refinery 29, she talks about the tough times she had trying to fit in as a teenager in America. “I didn’t know if my [accent] was the barrier -- the way I looked was a barrier,” she says, “I didn’t look like anyone else, so all of it made me really afraid.”

The actress and singer went on to reveal that two years ago she lost her father to cancer, and had a sample of his handwriting tattooed on her right hand to memorialize him.

Chopra sees her role as an FBI agent on “Quantico” as a chance to embrace the mystery of what it means to be foreign or other. “When ABC came to me with doing this talent development deal, that’s the one thing I told them, especially being Indian: I wanted to play an ethnically ambiguous part.”

"Quantico" airs Sunday nights on ABC.
