Singer Selena Gomez will be honored with the Chart Topper Award at Billboard's annual Women in Music event on Dec. 11.

According to Billboard, the event, which is in its 10th year, recognizes accomplishments by women in the music industry. It will take place in New York.

Gomez's latest album, "Revival," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The first single, "Good For You," is the star's fastest selling and highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, and it peaked at No. 5.

"In the last few months, Selena has broken onto the scene as an adult, and come into her own as an artist with the success of Revival," said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group. "We want to highlight this moment for a woman who has become a role model for many, a feminist, an independent voice whose new album truly showcases her as a mature artist."

Gomez has yet to comment on the honor, but she did share a special message with her fans on Twitter on Oct. 20 about their support and contribution to her success.

"I just wanna say thank you to all you guys for the past few weeks. Reminds me of why I do what I do!" the singer tweeted.

Singer and actress Lady Gaga will also be honored at the event with the 2015 Woman of the Year award, while Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard will be named Billboard's 2015 Women in Music Powerhouse Artist.

Last year's recipient of the Woman of the Year award was Taylor Swift, and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea received the Chart Topper Award. Billboard's annual event will be televised on Lifetime on Dec. 18.

Up next for Gomez is a performance at the American Music Awards on Nov. 11. She will also be joining fellow artists Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd, Calvin Harris, One Direction, Tove Lo, and 5 Seconds of Summer for the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour 2015.

Gomez will be touring the world the summer of 2016 to promote her latest album "Revival."
