'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' News Update: Is Superman Under the Control of Lex Luther?
The second to "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" has premiered.
The new trailer shows Bruce Wayne and Clark kent at odds from the beginning. The two are at a party arguing before being interrupted by Lex Luther. From there the trailer cuts to a number of battles between Batman and Superman and there is even a scene which shows Batman chained up in a dungeon. Suddenly Superman flies in and walks over to the scared Batman and removes the mask showing Ben Affleck. From the trailer it seems like Superman is under a spell of some sort especially since he gives Batman the evil eye.
This could definitely be possible, especially as Lex Luther talks to Lois Lane and tells her how much he is enjoying seeing the two heroes duke it out. The trailer ends with the revelation of Doomsday, a powerful villain that in the comics kills Superman. As the villain is about to attack Batman, Wonder Woman appears using her shield to protect the hero.
There is still very little known about the actual plot of the film except that Batman wants revenge for the destruction of Gotham that was caused by Superman in "Man of Steel." However, it is unknown what role the rest of the characters will play in the film.
"Batman v Superman" stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman. Both actors will be joined by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Jena Malone, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter also star.
The film is the second DC film for Warner Bros. as the studio attempts to create a Justice League world in the same way Marvel has done with their superheroes. The film will be followed by "Suicide Squad," which will show a number of supervillains teaming up and will continue with a "Wonder Woman" film as well as "The Flash" and a "Justice League" film.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be released on March 25. The film was directed by Zack Snyder and written by Oscar winner Chris Terrio.
