"In the Heart of the Sea" star Chris Hemsworth is getting ready for a tropical kind of Christmas as the holiday season is fast approaching. The Australian actor revealed how it was their tradition to go to the beach every Christmas.

In an interview with E! News, Hemsworth revealed that he and his wife Elsa Pataky, their one-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan and their three-year-old daughter India Rose revealed are all getting ready for their soon-to-come tropical holiday getaway.

After being busy with filming his latest flick "In the Heart of the Sea," Hemsworth revealed his plans for the holidays. "We still get together and go somewhere where we're on the beach," he said. The actor also added that they might spend their holiday in Costa Rica.

Furthermore, Hemsworth revealed that it was traditional for his family to go to beaches during Christmas. "We used to go camping every Christmas together on the beach, and that's how we grew up. We want to continue that as much as we can," Hemsworth told the publication.

Meanwhile, during his recent appearance at the premiere of his film in New York, he revealed to People that it was tough to watch his weight and only have 500 calories a day for his role in the film.

Hemsworth even shocked many fans after posting a photo of himself dressed in his character as a 19th-century sailor looking very thin than before. He apparently lost a total of 33 lbs.

"Just tried a new diet/training program called "Lost At Sea". Wouldn't recommend it..#IntheHeartoftheSea @zocothebodypro," Hemsworth wrote as a caption to the photo on Instagram.

However, despite the tough challenge, Hemsworth shared that he got a lot of support from his wife, Pataky. "She had to put up with my moods unfortunately," Hemsworth told the publication. "She's great. I'd kind of done it before in 'Rush' but not to this extreme. By the end of it she was happy for me to start eating again," he added.

But the hardship for Hemsworth was all gone right after the production concluded and even shared that he had a feast afterwards. "We went to an Italian restaurant and had all sorts of pasta and pizza and all the wrong things." Hemsworth continued.

"It gave me a bit of a food hangover to honest with you. I hadn't eaten anything like that for a while," he added. "In the Heart of the Sea" hits the theaters on Dec. 11.
