In the classic TV style of midseason finales, "Madam Secretary" left fans with a cliffhanger that was so intense that there is no way they will miss the next episode in January.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Episode 10 started off with the peace talks in Geneva. Besides the fact the Ukrainian President did not even have the decency to show up, Elizabeth McCord and President Dalton made their appearance to meet with Russia's Maria Ostrov.

There were bargaining chips and conditions laid out on the table, but when they were agreed upon, things took another direction.

Dalton agreed to lift economic sanctions on the country and private individuals, with the exception of suspects on the terror list. Ostrov agreed to restore the fuel supply to Eastern Europe in exchange. But before the ink could get on the paper, she demanded that Dalton and the U.S. announce that Russia was not behind the attack on Air Force One and issue an apology to Russia for the blackout in Moscow.

Dalton nearly laughed in her face at the notion. He and Bess then presented her with their "ace in the hole," which was evidence that she killed her husband.

This gave her the turnaround she needed, but she would not budge with her last demand. She wanted the name of the mole in her government.

Meanwhile, Henry McCord and Jane are on their way to pick up Dmitri on a street corner when Jane got a call to pass him on by. When they did, Henry started an uproar and when he looked back, Dmitri was being kidnapped by men. There was no doubt that was the end for his Russian spy who seemingly was betrayed at the last moment, unbeknownst to Henry.

When he contacts Bess, she said they had to give him up for the greater good.

Bess and Dalton get into their car, while Ostrov got into hers, a man shoots an explosive just before the episodes ends.

Fans are now left with a cliffhanger and wondering who was killed in the final attack.
