Last Sunday was a big night for Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as it was the premiere of their reunion comedy film "Daddy's Home." Ferrell was very open about what it's like working with his co-star once again and how comedy work became his passion.

Talking with Variety during the film's premiere last Sunday in New York City, Ferrell, who worked with Wahlberg in the past in their hit film "The Other Guys," revealed how much he enjoyed working with the "Transformers" star again.

"Mark is really funny -- he is entertaining and really charming and one of those actors who can do it all," Ferrell told the publication. "It's nice that we have a shorthand with each other from 'The Other Guys,' so filming this movie was a lot of fun. Once again, I play the straight-laced guy and Mark is kind of the crazy one. We're the perfect combination together."

The film, which centers about the relationship between the father and the step-father to a family opens this Christmas. Ferrell's co-star, Wahlberg, promises that his approach to this film along with his other successful movies will be the same, which means that viewers will definitely be treated to one funny movie.

"I approach comedy roles the same way I approach everything else, and the key is to make it as real as possible," Wahlberg told the news agency. "There's no separate formula or preparation. I just try to make it real and stay committed to the situation, no matter how absurd it is, and hope people will enjoy it and believe it."

Meanwhile, the film's writer Brian Burns revealed just how they came up with the story. "I was involved in this relationship with my stepkids' real dad and we were just such total polar opposites, so I thought that was a really funny set-up for a family comedy," Burns told tThe Hollywood Reporter during the premiere as well.

Indeed, the film will not just be comical but will feature a story about families which many can relate to. "It's amazing how many real-life families these days have exactly the same situation and it's nice ... to put some humor into what could be a potentially awkward situation and make it all a family, fun comedy," Riza Aziz, Red Granite co-founder, said as quoted by the publication.

"Daddy's Home" opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
