Just when the holidays are about to kick off, singer Ariana Grande surprises her fans and releases a new EP special just for Christmas titled "Christmas & Chill," which include tracks about the holiday season. The album is composed of original music from the singer.

NME reported that the 22-year-old singer recently announced the release of her latest six-track album with songs including "Wit It This Christmas," "December" and "Not Just On Christmas," on Thursday. The New York Daily News further revealed that the holiday-themed album marked the third time that the artist released songs about the holidays.

It has been three straight years according to the publication, and every year, Grande releases at least one holiday-themed song. Despite the surprise, the lyrics to some of the songs for her Christmas EP this year still included romantic themes, not bridging away from her usual theme.

"Tis the season for some loving, so I think you should give your love to me" and "Down for lovin' you'll be my drummer boy," are some of the lyrics from Grande's songs.

Furthermore, the news agency revealed that Grande previously released her first holiday EP, "Christmas Kisses," two years before her recent one. It featured the singer covering Christmas hits such as "Santa Baby" and "Last Christmas."

Grande's Christmas EP last year was her first one to release an original song titled "Santa Tell Me," that reached no. 42 on the Billboard chart. The release comes after Grande teased her fans through social media, posting lyrics to mysterious songs.

"Ain't no ice or no chills.. no (snowman) to build... most of our friends at the beach... but my baby's in town and we're gonna do some winter things," Grande wrote in one of her Twitter posts. The singer even posted another one announcing the release of her album.

"Should already be out overseas!" she wrote on Twitter, adding, "Hope my babies are enjoying #ChristmasAndChill. It'll be out here tonight."

It seemed like Grande had a productive year-ender despite being caught in an issue saying that she was slacking in her previous scheduled appearance at "The Jonathan Ross Show," which she failed to attend to.

The host, which was infuriated at Grande's absence said, "Ariana is in town. We were told she would be in the car at 6pm to be here for 7pm then it got to 7pm and she was not in the car -- 7.30pm and she is still not in the motherf***ing car. So I don't think we can hold out much hope. She was booked but the lazy little f***er has not come. Maybe she has gone to her first Nando's," Jonathan Ross said as quoted by NME.
