Dr. Spencer Reid will find himself on a blind date that goes tragically wrong when "Criminal Minds" returns from its winter recess next month.

A preview video of the midseason premiere, which is entitled "Entropy," shows Matthew Gray Gubler's character on a date with a woman named Cat Adams, played by guest star Aubrey Plaza. At the beginning of the video, the two appear to hit it off very well after they meet at a romantic restaurant. However, things take a sudden turn for the worse when the "Grumpy Cat" actress asks him if he "likes games."

When Reid agrees, Cat pulls out a gun underneath their table. She also gently grabs Reid's gun from his inside pocket.

"A blind date becomes a deadly game," says the narrator in the video.

According to TVLine, Cat will test how quickly Reid can think on his feet by forcing him to save himself and the other people in the restaurant. She also apparently planted a bomb in the restaurant.

Meanwhile, a synopsis for the upcoming episode reveals that Reid will play a major role in helping the BAU team crack the Dirty Dozen case.

According to CarterMatt, the synopsis for "Entropy" reads, "The BAU implements an elaborate strategy to try and take down the 'Dirty Dozen' hitmen ring, with Reid playing a central role, on Criminal Minds, Wednesday, Jan. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Aubrey Plaza guest stars as Cat Adams, Reid's date."

The last episode of "Criminal Minds" involved a killer who performed medical experiments on his victims in an effort to stop the aging process. During the midseason finale, the FBI agents went on the hunt to find the amateur doctor obsessed with immortality, who had killed his human guinea pigs, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Season 11 Episode 11 of "Criminal Minds," "Entropy," will premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
