It's official. Since announcing their separation in September of 2012 and after nine years of marriage, Arrested Development actor Will Arnett and Parks and Recreation actress Amy Poehler have officially filed for divorce.

According to People magazine, Arnett filed the divorce papers on April 8 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He has requested joint legal and physical custody of his and Poehler's sons Archie, 5, and Abel, 3 as well as visitation rights.

The divorce will count as Poheler's first and Arnett's second. Prior to his marriage to Poehler in August of 2003, Arnett married actress Penelope Ann Miller. Arnett later divorced Miller in 1993.

Though their marital union has now ended, we can't forget the various comedies the now split couple appeared on once upon a time together. Arnett and Poehler both co-starred in Arrested Development together, Blades of Glory, Parks and Recreation, and Monsters vs. Aliens, reports the LA Times.

Since their separation, Poehler and Arnett have started dating other people. Us Weekly reports that Arnett briefly dated celeb chef Katie Lee and then stepped out in December with producer Erin David, while Poehler, 42, has been in a relationship with comedian Nick Kroll since May 2013.

"She was looking for a guy like him," says an Us Weekly source about Kroll who is creator and star of Comedy Central's Kroll Show. "She wanted a comedian who 'gets' her."

Could this mean marriage number two for Poehler? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Despite their unfortunate breakup, the two funny actors have a few upcoming movie projects in the works that we can look forward to.

Arnett will appear as Vernon Fenwick in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie set to release in August of 2014 and will play Surly in The Nut Job 2 premiering in January of 2016.

As for Poehler, she will be lending her voice to the role of Joy in the upcoming Disney Pixar 3D animated comedy film, 'Inside Out.'
