A new trailer has just been released for "The Conjuring 2."

In the horror film genre, no other franchise has been quite as successful lately as that of "The Conjuring." As the sequel rolls along the assembly line, producers have dropped a delicious new teaser trailer for fans of the genre.

According to Indiewire, the film is poised to bring back all the shockingly familiar haunts of the original. It also clearly defines Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga), who both return for the second go-round, as the main characters and leading stars of the franchise.

The first film offered a detailed plot and complex character development. It started off with the Warrens addressing a previous case, which turned out to be the case of the "Annabelle" doll portrayed in the recent prequel spin-off. It then segued into the life of the Perron family, who were being terrorized by a ghastly dead witch.

The Perron family brought in the Warrens, and the film followed their fight against the supernatural. The story was reportedly based on true events, drawn from the case files of the real Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The next film is expected to take on the same formula. It will start out with the Warrens addressing the famous Amityville case, then segue over to Enfield, London, where the Hodgson family is being terrorized by a supernatural poltergeist.

With this new trailer, it becomes clear the franchise is solely focused on the involvement of the Warrens with each of these paranormal phenomena. The film's introduction via the Amityville case will likely spawn its own spin-off prequel, which could go back further than the Lutz family and focus on the original DeFeo tragedy.

The new trailer focuses solely on the Enfield case. It shows a strong sense of terror and dread that overcame the little girl of the family, who seems to be the primary target of the evil presence.
