For those who are familiar with the famous Warren files from the '70s, then it should come as no surprise to you that the next "The Conjuring" film will make its mark on American Crime history when it opens up on the Amityville case and the real life characters of the DeFeo family massacre.

According to Bloody Disgusting, there has been some confirmed casting that means the Amityville case will be at the forefront of the next film, which clearly shows that they will be opening it up with the events that came before the Lutz family moved into 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville.

Although the sequel film is set to be featured in England given its name, "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist," there is now news that the events that occurred at the Amityville house will be the upfront story that takes place in Long Island.

Although the film franchise is taking what appears to be factual case files and somewhat fictionalizing the stories for the screen, the story of the DeFeo murders are cemented in history as fact based.

In this incident, Ronnie DeFeo Jr. was convicted of the murder of his father, mother, two brothers and two sisters, which all took place in the infamous Amityville house.

In the film (and book) "The Amityville Horror," that story took place after those murders occurred, when the Lutz family moved into the house and stayed 28 days before being forced to flee their home due to paranormal phenomena.

The two DeFeo sisters were Dawn and Allison DeFeo, who were real life people, not just characters in popular fiction.

Actress Alexa Najera confirmed to a fan on Twitter that she is indeed playing Allison DeFeo, which has also been confirmed on her IMDb page.

There is also good reason to believe that the movie will be setting up another spinoff to tackle the Amityville case, but from the perspective of the DeFeo's. That is the part of the Amityville Horror that never made it into the movie and most fans have heard little about it.

As fans already know, "The Conjuring" opened up on an entirely unrelated case known as the "Annabelle" doll. That doll later got its own spinoff movie from the franchise. So it is not unreasonable to believe that this movie could be doing the same thing with Amityville.
