The winter season isn't over yet, and while the biting cold would have you wish the season to be over, there is a bright side to all that ice.

According to Food Network, Latin American cooking covers a massive region including countries like Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Chile, Boliva, Paraguay, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The rich and colorful history of these countries also makes for a rich culinary experience, which includes a wide array of ingredients such as tamales, salsas and arroz con pollo.

It's interesting to see the host of options the region will bring when it comes to helping you get through the winter cold.

Menudo

A traditional Mexican soup, Menudo is made of beef stomach and red chili pepper base brothed to hot perfection. The chili alone is enough to keep the stomach warm.

Ropa Vieja

Cuba proves that coffee isn't the only thing they're popular for. Ropa Vieja is a stew made with beef and vegetables.

Asopao

A tasty rice soup from Puerto Rico, you can make Asopao with the meat of your choosing -- seafood, chicken, pork, beef, even vegetables.

Atole

Atole is a traditional corn flour-based hot drink from Mexico. It's also known as atol and "atol de elote"

Champurrado

Speaking of Atole, its cousin, the Champurrado, but with chocolate, is also good at keeping the body warm. The beverage can be drunk with a bolillo dip too.

Api Morado

A purple corn drink from Bolivia, Api Morado will soothe your winter blues.

Cafecito

Of course, this list wouldn't be complete without Cafecito, one of the things Cuba is most famous for - coffee.
