Following a successful Closed PC Beta run, Poppermost Productions' ambitious skiing simulator, SNOW, is set to be released for the Playstation 4, with Thomas Joubert, marketing manager at Poppermost, stating that the Closed Beta for Sony's flagship console is scheduled for an early spring launch, according to the PlayStation Universe.

Joubert, however, stated that the specifics of the PlayStation 4's Closed Beta is still being polished, emphasizing that the company prefers to release a game that would fully optimize the power of Sony's console.

"Now that SNOW is in Open Beta on PC, we can start to focus more on the PS4 version. We have a working build and have shown it at a few shows, but needed the extra time to make sure it was optimised for a console launch," Joubert said, reported The Sixth Axis.

Xbox fans do not need to worry, however, as Poppermost is also looking into creating a dedicated version of the simulator for Microsoft's console. The marketing manager, however, stated that due to the company's relatively limited resources at the moment, the Xbox version of the game would largely depend on how well the PlayStation Beta is received.

For a company that states it is lacking in funds, however, Poppermost sure has created an extremely engaging ski simulator. Now that the game is entering Open Beta on the PC this coming Wednesday, fans of the ambitious simulator are more excited than ever.

With regards to the Open Beta release for the PC, players of the game would be treated to a number of features that have long been requested in the simulator, including the a revamped character customization system that features real-life items from some of the world's most prominent ski brands, according to Red Bull.

Apart from this, a number of new levels would also be introduced in the coming Open Beta launch for the PC, featuring finely-rendered mountains that players would be free to explore. An enhanced drone system is also set to be included, which would help players traverse the multitudes of square kilometers of slopes that the simulator offers. Snowboarding would finally be featured as an option too.

Perhaps the most anticipated feature of the game, however, is its support for virtual reality systems. In light of this, Joubert has stated that Poppermost Productions has been working on developing the game in such a way that it would be fully compatible with VR systems for the PC and the PS4 once they are released to the public.

The marketing manager further stated that the current PC version of SNOW already supports the Oculus Rift.
